The French government has recently admitted that they are interested in and looking into the online sports betting industry.
Frances budget minister Eric Woerth who will be meeting with the EC next month had this to say on the matter.
“gaming on the internet must be controlled, which means that we can’t accept just any operator.”
The French government has some concerns that include the potential for organized crime and youth gambling.
