The UK Gambling Commission has found that problem gambling in the UK has not changed in the last eight years.
These findings released last week on gamblingcommission.gov.uk show us that about 0.6 percent of the British adult population has a gambling problem. The last study was done in 1999 and many expected the number to be much higher then 0.6 percent.Peter Dean, the outgoing Chairman of the Gambling Commission had this to say.
“The key message is that, overall, there has been surprisingly little change either in the number of gambling participants or to the number of problem gamblers since 1999”The next Gambling Commission Prevalence Study will be in 2009.
